My dog Ozzie had non-life-threatening knee and spine issues. But on 15-05-2026 at 2 AM, he suddenly screamed in severe pain, biting his own lips from the intensity.We called Sanjay Gandhi Animal Hospital many times but they didn't pick it but on 5:30 AM they did. They told us to bring him in immediately. On the way, I saw negative Google reviews and suggested going to 24x7 Pet Clinic in Raja Garden, but my father insisted on Sanjay Gandhi.We arrived at 6 AM. Only 3–4 staff were present. We showed Ozzie’s history, 20-day-old X-rays, and blood reports. Instead of starting treatment, they gave a painkiller that didn't work and insisted on new X-rays. Their machine was broken, so they told us to wait until 11 AM for a nearby diagnostic center to open.We waited for hours while Ozzie cried and bit his lips in agony. Meanwhile, the doctor sat casually drinking tea. I begged to take him elsewhere for the X-ray, but they insisted private clinics might not hand over reports properly. My father believed them, fearing we wouldn't be allowed back in if we left.They didn't even clean the blood from Ozzie's face. In the same room, I saw three puppies on a cold metal bed; one was dead. When I informed the doctor, he showed no reaction. That was a major red flag.By 9 AM, more staff arrived. Another doctor wrote notes but gave no medicine. An hour later, a female doctor ordered Vitamin D3, WBC, and blood tests, giving him anesthesia and another painkiller. I paid ₹1750. They said results would take until 3 PM.By then, Ozzie was in too much pain to travel safely elsewhere. They had wasted hours providing only sedatives, not actual treatment. When the sedation wore off, Ozzie began screaming and thrashing again.A senior NGO person suggested euthanasia because of his extreme suffering. Heartbroken, we agreed. At 1 PM, they administered the injection. His heart stopped while he was looking toward me.Cremation cost ₹6000, bringing total expenses to around ₹9000.After reaching home, we received his blood reports. His platelet count was extremely low (0.4) and WBC was dangerously high (29.5), indicating a severe infection. His Vitamin D3 was normal.This means he was likely fighting a severe bacterial infection, yet they wasted six critical hours demanding an X-ray instead of immediate blood tests. This felt like pure negligence. Because of their delay, we lost him.I keep blaming myself for trusting them and agreeing to euthanasia. The only peace I have is that I was holding and hugging Ozzie in his final moments. I hope that comforted him. I feel I lost my boy because of their careless, negligent behavior.

As far as I know, Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Center is a non profit organization.
I have been visiting them since 2013, often for the strays in need.
Their charges are separately mentioned at the reception, nominal for strays and reasonable for the home pets.
They cater 24*7 to the outdoor OPD and also have a functional indoor animal admission department. They give genuine advice and deliver good care, provided you don't abandon your animal in need. Many patients reach them with no future plans with/for the animal they accompany. Or they bring/help accidental cases, which is a very humane thing to do. A good samaritan indeed!!
Yet, the hospital has limited capacity to deliver to high footfall, especially for the ones needing continued shelter.
So, if you plan to visit them, please pay out of compassion/ charity. Also, that place is only for the diseased animals, therefore, please do not leave your animal there, unless that's the only way out.

This hospital and their ICU is extremely kind and great in their services.

They were able to help us heal our dog within days who faced severe injuries. They regularly shared our dog’s reports and provided regular medicine.

Their grit and care is commendable! Thanks to all the team who is doing god’s work.

WORST PLACE for STREET DOGS
My street dog Sheru was completely healthy....only his leg was broken.....he was still eating, playing & doing his daily activities finely ....some one recommended me Sanjay Gandhi hospital for his broken leg treatment
They took him for treatment , asked rs2500 for the same
Next day morning they called me & told Sheru is dead
When l asked how is it possible he was completely fit & healthy...they have no answer to my question
I asked them for his pic ....to which they replied we have done his last rites & rituals
I immediately went to hospital with my college friends & was so disappointed to my decisions of sending him there ..
He was lying there dead waiting to get burned
No medical treatment was given to him
There was no plaster on his broken leg
And they told me that he was sensitive , he could not accept the atmosphere and that's why he died
But l know that he was the strongest dog as he survived accident & was healing on his own
I regret the desicion of sending him to Sanjay Gandhi animal care
No reports of him,no video of treatment has been shared
We are group of college students who collected our pocket money to save the being but that desicion took his life
I request you Sanjay Gandhi Management to kindly pick animals , only if you can take care of them
As they are voiceless but the Divine sitting & watching our actions is not voiceless,he definitely watches everyone's karma & do send them back multifold in his own ways
Even when we asked for refund as his no treatment was done ....they denied
So beware God is watching your every action

I had a terrible experience at this WORST Hospital. My beloved dog (ROXY) was taken there for treatment, but Dr. Karan from this hospital performed the wrong surgery. Because of his mistake, my dog tragically passed away. This was not just negligence – it was a complete failure of responsibility and care.

I trusted them with her life, and they failed us in the worst possible way. Pet owners deserve doctors who are skilled, careful, and compassionate, not ones whose errors lead to such heartbreaking loss. I will never recommend this place to anyone, and I hope no other pet or owner has to suffer what we went through.
